University of Sevilla
University of Sevilla

Seville is a university city with a large student population which adds to its colour and diversity. The main building of the University of Seville was home to a tobacco factory until the 1950’s and is now often referred to as “The Old Tobacco Factory". This beautiful old building is a fine example of Sevillian architecture and was the setting for the famous opera by Bizet, Carmen, about a worker in the tobacco factory. This building is home to different faculties: the Law school, the school of Literature & Filology, the school of Geography and History and there are various other buildings housing the other faculties dotted around the city.
