Views of the Expo de Sevilla

The Universal Exposition Seville ’92, also known as Expo ’92 took place on the
Cartuja
Island in
Seville in 1992 and lasted 6 months. The theme for this exposition was “The Age of Discovery” with 100 countries participating. Many of the ornate pavilions had been built for the previous exposition and world fair, The Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 but it was a failure as the famous Black Tuesday stock market crash took place the same year. With 215 hectares of land dedicated to Expo ´92 and 41,814,571 visitors, the exposition was a success and an important milestone in
Seville ’s history. Most of the Expo 92 site now hosts the Isla Magica theme park.
